Launching the Future of CLM Readiness – The Launchpad Beta Program


Addressing a Market Gap in Legal Operations


Kindworks LLC led the development and launch of a new consulting service with a preeminent CLM consultancy. The initiative, Launchpad Professional, was designed for small and mid-sized legal departments looking to either adopt a new Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system or optimize their existing one.


💡 The Problem: Many small legal teams lack the resources, expertise, or frameworks to assess their CLM readiness.


The Solution: A structured, budget-friendly consulting service that provides a readiness assessment, personalized recommendations, and AI-driven insights.

We developed a Beta program to validate our approach, engaging six legal departments across industries including finance, insurance, and technology​.


Building the Foundation: Strategy & Execution


To successfully design and deploy Launchpad Beta, we drove multiple key initiatives:

🔹 Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborated with Marketing, IT, Finance, and Operations to define scope and execution.

  • Created a structured customer journey, ensuring seamless onboarding and engagement.

🔹 Defining the Process & Customer Experience

  • Refined a custom intake questionnaire to assess CLM maturity.

  • Pivoted the approach from a "Buy Now" model to a consultation-first engagement strategy based on client feedback.

🔹 Beta Program Implementation

  • Designed and launched assessment reports tailored to each Beta client.

  • Introduced AI Advisor, a chatbot powered by OpenAI to support contract management inquiries.

  • Designed pilot coaching sessions, refining content based on real-world customer insights.

 

 

Beta Program Results: What We Learned


The Beta program exceeded expectations, proving the market demand for a structured CLM readiness service:

📌 Exceeded our target of 2-5 Beta clients – 6 companies participated.📌 Improved customer experience – Implemented 29+ enhancements based on feedback.📌 Benchmarked & Delivered 100% of assessment reports – Baseline of 25 hours per report, with a goal to reduce to under 5 hours in future iterations​.📌 Early customer feedback was positive, but customers required budget approvals before moving forward with a paid version.


Conclusion: A Strong Proof of Concept


🚀 Program Beta validated the need for a structured, cost-effective CLM readiness solution.📊 The insights gained are shaping future iterations, ensuring stronger market alignment.💼 This initiative showcased our ability to drive AI-enabled consulting services, blending business strategy, legal tech, and process optimization.
